Hofmann war Gr\u00fcndungsdirektor des Museum des 20. Jahrhunderts in Wien. Von 1969 bis 1990 leitete er die Hamburger Kunsthalle. Seine Ausstellungen, insbesondere der Zyklus \u201eKunst um 1800\u201c, gelten als Meilenstein in der Ausstellungsgeschichte der Hamburger Kunsthalle und der deutschen Kunstmuseen &#8211; \u201eYou put Hamburg on the map\u201c hie\u00df es. Werner Hofmann war Gastprofessor an der UC Berkeley, USA und an der Harvard University, USA. Er wurde vielfach ausgezeichnet, u.a. 1991 mit dem Sigmund-Freud-Preis f\u00fcr wissenschaftliche Prosa. Zu den wichtigen Werken, wozu u.a. die zu Goja und Degas geh\u00f6ren, ist auch das zum Standardwerk avancierte Buch \u00fcber Motive und Ideen des 19. Jahrhunderts, \u201eDas irdische Paradies\u201c (1960).<\/p>\n<p>Werner Hofmann starb im M\u00e4rz 2013 in Hamburg.<\/p>\n<p><a Er war Professor f\u00fcr Malerei und Zeichnung an der Hochschule f\u00fcr angewandte Wissenschaften Hamburg. Ab 1985 geh\u00f6rte er der Freien Akademie der K\u00fcnste in Hamburg an.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eDie Kunstsprache Friedrich Einhoffs zeigt, dass die formalen M\u00f6glichkeiten der Moderne, den Menschen zu erfassen, noch nicht ausgesch\u00f6pft sind. Seine Figuren entziehen sich, wie Mehrfachbelichtungen in der Fotografie, der Festlegung und Eindeutigkeit: Sie sind zugleich anonym und unverwechselbar, nah und ungreifbar, sie sind \u201aVertraute Unbekannte\u2018. Einhoff hat den Menschen als Stilleben neu erfunden.\u201c (Werner Hofmann)<\/p>\n<p>Friedrich Einhoff hat in Deutschland, Spanien und in den Niederlanden ausgestellt, seine wichtigsten Ausstellungen waren \u201eRetrospektive\u201c 2009 (Galerie Levy, Hamburg) und 2019 \u201eDas Vertraute Unbekannte\u201c in der Hamburger Kunsthalle.<\/p>\n<p>Friedrich Einhoff starb 2018 in an, ein Bild aus seiner realistischen Phase, auf dem f\u00fcnf \u00e4ltere Paare wie auf einem Seniorentanztee in Tanzhaltung miteinander verbunden sind \u2013 steif und w\u00e4chsern wie in einem Panoptikum. Zwei der Herren mit den Gesichtsz\u00fcgen prominenter Hamburger Politiker, B\u00fcrgermeister Weichmann ist einer der beiden, gediegen gekleidet mit Anzug und Krawatte, die Damen in sogenannten Cocktail-Kleidern f\u00fcr die gereifte Generation, braungrau das meiste. Die signifikanten Kleidermuster erscheinen wie einem einschl\u00e4gigen Versandhauskatalog der 70er Jahre entnommen. Aber eben da bringt Hans Platschek seine informellen Erfahrungen und M\u00f6glichkeiten ins Spiel, indem er diese Muster durch d\u00e9calcomanische, tupfende, stempelnde, wischende Weise gewinnt und damit zugleich ironisch darauf hinweist, dass auch diese Teilfl\u00e4chen, die wie Oblaten ohne r\u00e4umliche Illusion eingeklebt erscheinen, kein Ort der Illustration, sondern Malerei sind, auf einer Leinwand.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>5.
